These items typically need to be “scheduled”, and rider is added to your policy. A “USPAP-compliant, Qualified, Appraisal report is the basis for establishing value. The vast majority are culled from the BF Papers of Yale and the American Philosophical Society. I’m looking for those letters not listed in the 48 volume series. Tim O’Coonor

We are making new transcriptions of every letter (last transcribed and edited by Johnson and Ward in 1958).
To insure greatest accuracy, we want to transcribe from the original letters, not from digital copies. We have been visiting institutions we know hold Dickinson letters, based on locations known in 1958, but we know that those then in private hands may have changed hands, and that new letters have surfaced.
If you own a Dickinson letter, or have knowledge of one held in a private collection, we would like to know about it. Ideally, one of us would visit and transcribe your letter; if that is not possible, we would hope to obtain a digital image.
Please contact Cris Miller at ccmiller@buffalo.edu.
Thank you for your help!
